Foster a Rescue Horse

Foster a Rescue HorseEvery horse needs a loving home. And our goal is to make sure every horse in our care has a place where they may live in a safe, loving environment.

Dust Devil Ranch is able to provide help for many of our rescue horses through a network of foster homes that help house some of our rescued horses until permanent homes are found. Without the help of foster homes, our ability to help the horses we do would be severely limited.

Some foster homes help rehabilitate horses while others work with horses with training problems. Foster homes show their horses to prospective adopters… and when their foster horse is adopted, they open their hearts for another.

You can make a difference by opening up your heart and your barn or pasture to a rescue horse. We’re looking for foster families who are willing to take on the responsibility of caring for a horse or two by providing food, shelter, farrier care, medical attention, companionship, and in some cases training and riding for whatever period of time is needed.

Not sure you have the horse experience to foster? Give us a call and we’ll be happy to discuss it with you. Many of the people who provide foster care tell us they’ve learned more about horses by fostering than through lessons, classes, or anything else.

What type of horses do we foster?

Some foster horses are companion horses… some are rideable horses… some need training… some are unrideable… every situation is different.

If you are interested in fostering a horse for Dust Devil Ranch Sanctuary for Horses, please contact us so we can get some information about you and your property. You can reach Ginger Grimes via email at [email protected].

Thank you for your interest in becoming a foster home. If you are unable to foster or adopt a rescue horse at this time, please consider our Horse Sponsorship Program. It’s another great way to help the horses!
